Chorley thrash Wakefield

UniBond First Division North Wakefield 1 Chorley 4

CHORLEY rattled in the goals...and the woodwork as they came away from College Grove with all three points in a high-scoring game.

The Magpies shot-shy strike-force ended their barren goal-scoring spell two of their players grabbing three of the goals.

The visitors started well with Chris Amadi opening the scoring with a daisy-cutter along the ground on 23 minutes.

Chorley continued to pile on the pressure and on the verge of half-time they doubled their lead when Alex Porter's cross was headed home by Steven Burke.

Burke went off injured before half-time and was replaced by Danny Nolan.

After the break, Wakefield pulled one goal back from a header.

But Chorley restored their two-goal cushion when midfielder Lee Shillito fired home.

Shillito was almost at it again on 72 minutes but his strike rebounded off the crossbar.

On 77 minutes another pinpoint cross by Porter was nodded on by Wayne Maden and Amadi finished the move off to make it 4-1.

Chorley: Branagan, Smalley, Walker, Howson, Maden, Patel, Shillito, Kirkbride, Burke, Amadi, Porter. Subs: Nolan, Kelly, Worrall, Nay
