CHORLEY FC boss Garry Flitcroft says the Magpies have to pick up six points in their next two home games to keep up their challenge for promotion.
The Chorley Nissan Victory Park outfit are keen to keep piling the pressure on Chester City and other rivals Bradford Park Avenue so that they are still in title contention at the end of the season.
With last week’s Chester game postpoined until the final day of the season, Flitcroft believes the team must do everything to stay in the race.
He said: “It is frustrating that we have not had a game in a couple of weeks.
“However, we have had some positive training sessions at 3G pitches in Darwen and also running to keep up their fitness levels.
“It is disappointing because that the Chester game was off as we could have started a dip in their form and be back in the race for the title.
“Who knows by the time we face them at the end of the year they could have wrapped up the league.
“It is up to us to get wins against Matlock on Saturday and then Mickleover Sports in a fortnight.”
Midfielder Tom Williams has returned to training ahead of schedule and Flitcroft has one message for his squad.
He said: “We have a team capable of winning this league but we have to stop conceding goals because I know that we will create chances for our front three of Steve Foster, Matt Walwyn and Chris Denham to score.”
