Coppull United made it two wins from two after the Christmas break as they thrashed Fulwood Amateurs 3-0 in the West Lancashire Premier Division.
A hat-trick from the prolific Greg Brickell sealed the points for Dave Haughton’s men who now sit fifth in the table.
Coppull started the game brightly with Nathan Fairhurst and Mark Edmeads pulling the strings in midfield once again.
And after 10 minutes, it was the Blainscough Park outfit who found themselves one goal to the good.
After a stringing together seven passes, the ball was played through to Brickell who slot home past the goalkeeper.
Then three minutes later, Brickell grabbed his and Coppull’s second.
Again latching on to another throughball, the calm and composed Brickell sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to put daylight between the two sides.
And with only 27 minutes gone on the clock, Coppull were three goals to the good and Brickell secured another league hat-trick.
The prolific frontman is now on 27 goals for the season in both league and cup
The second half was much quieter with Fulwood sitting back and absorbing the Coppull pressure.
The away side did muster a couple of chances but the Coppull back line were never in danger of conceding and closed out the game with minimal fuss.
Coppull manager Dave Haughton said: “It was a great performance from the boys today.
“In Robinson and Brickell I think we have the best strikers in the league.
“And both Nathan Fairhurst and Mark Edmeads have been absolutely awesome as well.”
