Sam Cadwallader scored on her return from injury to help record a 2-0 victory for Chorley Ladies over Tranmere Rovers.
Vicky Coope bagged the other goal for Chorley.
League action returned to Mossie Park and the Ladies were looking to build on their fine cup form.
Chorley started the game quickly and a training ground corner between Vicky Coope and Natalie Parry was completed with a spectacular long range shot from Coope to give Chorley the lead.
Pressure mounted from Tranmere but Chorley were resiliant.
Kay Unsworth and Kerry Wareing were strong snd ensured the home side took a half time lead.
Shortly into the second half, excellent skill from Scarlett Smith finished with a cross to find Cadwallader, who back from injury, calmly slotted home to double Chorley’s lead.
Ruth Harrison remained strong at the back and Chorley battled to victory on a heavy pitch.
Chorley are now third in the FA Women’s Nothern Premier League Division One and are in FA Cup action at Charnock Richard on Sunday against Rotherham Ladies FC, kick off is 1pm.
