Charnock won 3-1 at home to Thornton Cleveleys with goals from Danny Smith, Carl Grimshaw and David Burrows.

Alex Porter, Mark Edmeads and Craig Banks were all unavailable but there were only two changes to the starting line-up.

Chris Robinson was fit again after missing the Fleetwood Hesketh game and he played up front.

Chris Benson made his first start for the club in the back four.

Spencer Bibby, just 18 years old, who had come up through the club’s junior section was on the bench.

The Mossie Close side opened the scoring in fine style with a long range effort two minutes before half-time.

Grimshaw took his scoring to nine for the season on 77 minutes.

Then with time running out Mike Fletcher crossed the ball in to David Burrows who finished the move.
