THERE were hugs and handshakes all round at Victory Park last Thursday night as the Chorley FC started their pre-season training.
More than 20 players turned up to the first session and there were some old faces taking part, including former striker Jordan Stepien and midfielder Jack Dorney, who were training with the club.
Apart from the traditional running around the pitch, there were some passing sessions and also light boxing training on the pads.
Flitcroft said: “The Evo-Stik Premier League is a competitive league and I want to win it.
“We have always had Chester along with us which has made it hard but I am confident that I now have a squad to challenge for the title.
“I always look forward to the new season and I think that I have added a bit of experience in the areas that were needed.
“The lads have always worked hard during pre-season and that has put us in a good position for when the season starts.”
Chorley kick-off their pre-season preparations with a home tie with Preston North End on July 17.
