Midfield maestro Jake Cottrell is the latest Chorley FC player to sign on the dotted line ahead of the new season.
The energetic central midfielder has signed a one-year extension with the Victory Park outfit.
He joins a list of players to sign contract extensions which includes Andrew Teague, Dale Whitham and James Dean, who all signed new deals last month.
However, the news is somewhat overshadowed as young defender Keil O’Brien has left the club turning professional with League Two outfit Bury.
O’Brien was an instrumental part of Chorley’s title-winning season and was quick to pay tribute to the club upon his departure.
He said: “First I want to say a massive thank you to Garry Flitcroft and the team.
“It has been an unbelievable season and I wouldn’t have got where I am without them.
“The fans are another group of people I want to say thank you to, as they have been unbelievable all season.
“Then the directors, coaches and, of course, Ken Wright the chairman, have also been great too.”

“I will definitely be back to watch the games when I can, I hope everybody understands my decision, it’s been a dream of mine to turn professional and now it has finally happened.”
The club have moved quickly to gain the services of another defender, pulling off a real coup signing former FC United defender Kyle Jacobs.
Jacobs, most recently with Stockport County, left the Edgeley Park side seeking opportunities at a higher level.
However, boss Garry Flitcroft managed to persuade Jacobs to join the Magpies on a one-year contract after fighting off interest from several other clubs.
“Kyle is a player I have been chasing for at least two seasons,” said Flitcroft.
“He is a player that can operate as a defender and on the right of midfield and I think he will be a great signing.”
