Chorley boss Garry Flitcroft admits his side have a tough game on their hands in this Saturday’s FA Trophy tie.
The Magpies take on Forest Green Rovers in the second round of the competition this Saturday and the Chorley boss feels his side will put on a good show.
He said: “We are definitely the underdogs going into the game.
“They have been tipped to win the Conference league but we have a great side here and I think we will put on a good show.”
Before then, Chorley take on Ramsbottom United tonight in the Lancashire FA Trophy.
And despite the vast amount of fixtures his players have been involved in, changes will be of a premium.
“I want to go and win tonight’s game,” said Flitcroft, so we will look to be as strong as we can.”
Flitcroft admitted his side started poorly in Saturday’s surprise 2-1 Evo-Stik Premier Division loss against Barwell, but still feels his side deserved something. He said: “We set off poorly and gave them two bad goals, which isn’t like us.
“But we looked on top throughout the game, and apart from their two goals I don’t remember them having another chance.”
Ahead of this week’s fixtures and next Tuesday’s game against Witton Albion, the club are giving fans the opportunity to win a pair of half-season tickets at each game.
Chairman Ken Wright said: “It’s another big week for the club as we continue to chase honours on four fronts. The way the draws have worked out, we’ve got three home games in a week in the different cup competitions, which is a big ask for supporters, particularly at this time of year.
As a result, we’ve reduced the admission prices for the games against Ramsbottom and Witton, and we are also putting on a free draw at our next three home games.”
Adults can watch the games against Ramsbottom and Witton for just £6 while concessions are just £4 with Under-16s getting into the game for free.
