Chorley Ladies continued their good form in the Women’s Northern Premier Division One with a 3-1 victory at bottom club Sheffield United Community.
Chorley started cautiously as they knew Sheffield’s only previous point all season came in a draw against them at Charnock Richard.
Numerous early chances fell to Chorley, but it was Sheffield who took the lead from a badly defended corner.
It was only midway through the second half when Chorley equalised.
Ruth Harrison sprinted forward, and after playing a one-two with Sam Cadwallader, finished coolly by slotting the ball past the keeper.
Chorley then took the lead when Harrison headed home an accurate cross from Natalie Parry.
Relief fell across the Chorley team who started to play composed football.
And another goal followed through Cadwallader, who collected the follow-up off a fumbled long-range effort.
Chorley now head to
Norton in the league this coming Sunday in search for three more points.
