Chorley Ladies safely made it through to the final 16 of the Plate Cup, thrashing Steel City 5-0.
The hosts started brightly and Rachel Wood enjoyed freedom on the left side of the pitch.
Wood created numerous chances and she managed to find the net on two occasions giving Chorley the upper hand.
Soon after, Chorley attacked down the left side again, but this time it was Ruth Harrison who converted, giving Chorley a deserved 3-0 lead at the break.
The second half was Chorley’s to lose. They started positively but soon let the standards drop and the visitors created a number of chances that should have been converted, but well timed tackles from Saskia Bowes and Janet Dawson ensured Chorley’s goal remained intact.
The lively Charlotte Higginson added to her league tally and consistent scoring with two quick fire goals towards the end of the game.
At the weekend, Chorley are still in cup action as they travel to Liverpool Marshalls Federation.
The kick-off is scheduled for 1pm.
