Chorley boss Garry Flitcroft has dismissed comments from Skelmersdale United boss Tommy Lawson after the table-topping manager said the Evo-Stik League Premier Division is Chorley’s to lose.
It isn’t the first time that Lawson has spoken to the media about the Victory Park outfit.
Prior to Christmas, the Skem boss said Chorley could become jaded due to a large amount of fixtures and Flitcroft should be keeping his side fresh.
But Flitcroft insists he had no interest in such comments and is far more interested in his own side.
He said: “I have no real interest in what Tommy Lawson has to say about anything to be honest.
“At the end of the day, we have players such as Josh Hine and Sam Ashton who came and joined us as they didn’t want to play for him.
“I think that says it all really. All we can do is keep winning and concentrate on our own performances.”
But Flitcroft is refusing to jump the gun and refuses to think of Saturday’s game until the Tuesday night replay has been played.
He added: “We’ll be going into the game full of confidence which is expected.
“But we will go into every game full of confidence so yes it is a home game against Skem.
“But what we need to do is defeat Tamworth first and then we can look forward to Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash.”
Chorley currently sit second in the league and have a huge four games in hand on Saturday’s opponents.
Kick off for the game is 3pm and the club are encouraging everybody to come down on and support the Magpies in their quest for promotion.
