WHAT better way to round off your last year playing football together than reaching a cup final?
Well that is what this group from Euxton Girls club are doing.
The U16 team may be the underdogs when they take on Birkdale at Burscough FC in March but it will bring down the curtain on their junior football careers together and they want to bow out in style.
Head coach Peter Robinson said: “It is great for the girls to reach this stage.
“They have been competing together since most of them were seven years old.
“Each time they have got to the semi-final and got knocked out so it is just great for them to play on a big stage. The team they are up against are expected to win it so there is no pressure on us and we like the underdog tage. It is exciting for the club and all the players involved before they split up and progress into Ladies football. “
