Three games were played in the Chorley and District Football League over the weekend and 27 goals were scored.
In our featured game last season’s champions showed their class with a ruthless 13-0 win over beleaguered Allstars.
The game saw the two leading goal scorers in the league play head-to-head with R Wilson starting the game on 20 goals and L Crocket on 17.
A magnificent six goals from L Crocket without reply saw him climb above Wilson, to claim the top spot on 23.
Other goals came from G Bindle (2), S Haliday, A Stringfellow, T Doherty, S Hendy, and C Wilding.
Meanwhile, one of Eagle’s competitors for the title this year, Whittle FC, also managed an 11-1 win over Chorley Crusaders.
Another impressive performance by Whittle put them top of the table, and goals were scored by Blundell (3), Marsden (3), Cooper (2), Walmsley, Mason, and Gordon.
The consolation goal from Chorley Crusaders was scored by their man of the match M Holding.
The other game in the league saw Hop Pocket and Croston Sports Club share the spoils in a 1-1 thriller. K Carlen scored first for Croston, who piled on the pressure, but P Draper scored the equaliser with eight minutes to spare. Man of the match was A Caunce, of Hop Pocket.
