Ladies break 23-year league record

CHORLEY set a new league record with nine wins out of nine since the start of the season with an impressive victory at Mossie Close Park.

Danielle Toward opened the scoring from a corner when she sidefooted home from a corner after 10 minutes.

She took her tally to two goals when she headed home at the back post from yet another Natalie Parry on 20 minutes.

Parry was at it again with another great corner into the box which was Ally O’Donnell headed into the back of the net.

Wigan had the final say of the half when they got on the scoresheet.

In the second period, Laura Todd Hunter hit a left wing cross which was finished on the volley by Kathy Beech on the hour mark.

Vicky Coupe got in on the scoring after following up on Laura Todd Hunter’s shot rebounded off the post.

On 70 minutes, Clare Smith fired a ball into the box and Kerry Bergin created some time and space before firing past the keeper.

Natalie Parry rounded off the win in style with an inswinging corner hitting the back of the net on the eve of the referee’s final whistle.
