Magpies boss has no new cash
Chorley boss Steve Waywell insists he has no cash for extra recruits at Victory Park.
The Magpies were edged out at Bamber Bridge in midweek, and Waywell says he urgently needs experienced faces in the Chorley ranks.
"We need at least four experienced players, but they cost a fortune so that won't happen at present," said Waywell.
"We had four lads under 18, and compared with the Brig experience on show, it becomes very hard. I want to get us in the play-offs and I'm not giving up.
"I'm not chucking it in, and I've set a target of six points from our next three fixtures. If we achieve that we'll be in touch as we've a lot of home games and are hard to beat here.
"But we've got to get that vital experience, as we haven't got that balance. The young lads are doing a terrific job, and I'm proud of them, but they need help and the only way to learn is from experienced players."
The Magpies have a testing run of away games at Leigh, Rossendale and AFC Fylde before leaders Lancaster and ex-Magpies boss Tony Hesketh visit a fortnight tomorrow.
"We had a nice run of three wins, but have to bounce back at Leigh Genesis tomorrow, and tighten up in defence," he added.
"We conceded two poor goals, especially the second, which was particularly disappointing.
"We dominated possession, but did nothing with it and did not come to terms with Brig's route-one approach. They had more drive and desire and that's what got them through.
"We'll keep battling and February is a make of break month for our play-off hopes," added Waywell.
