Magpies land new sponsor

Chorley FC have secured their second major new sponsorship deal of the summer.

Outdoor equipment specialists discover.co.uk have signed an agreement to become the club's new shirt sponsor for the 2010-11 season. The new strip, specially designed by

Umbro, was worn by the players for the first time in Friday night's 3-1 defeat with

Preston North End.

News of the deal, described as 'significant', is another welcome boost for manager Garry Flitcroft, and it comes just a fortnight after The Chorley Group were unveiled as the club's new main sponsor.

Flitcroft said: "This is great news for the club. To have two commercial partners on board of the calibre of discover.co.uk and The Chorley Group is fantastic, and it can only help us in our quest to get to where we want to be."

Flitcroft is also delighted the club have forged a partnership with top kit manufacturers Umbro, who replace Eternity as the official supplier.

He added: "All young kids want to wear Umbro or Nike gear these days so hopefully the decision to switch to Umbro will make our kit more appealing to the younger generation. It's a good-looking kit and, as a manager, you want your players to look the part when they run out."

Discover have five stores across the country, including one in Chapel Lane, Coppull.
