Chorley Panthers Under-15s booked their place in the quarter-finals of the North West Counties Cup with a 22-18 victory over Leigh East.
Stand-off Jack Thompson opened the scoring for Chorley before Leigh hit back with two converted tries to go in at the break 12-4 up.
Leigh increased the lead just after half-time and kept the advantage until 10 minutes from time.
With time running out, Luke Philippides got Chorley back in the hunt with a well-worked try before man-of-the-match Owen Farnworth took the black and whites within two points.
Panthers threw the ball wide in the final 10 seconds and in determined mood Jay Bairstow crossed the line to give Panthers the win.
n Panthers Under-7s got back to winning ways with a 24-8 win over Atherton Dragons.
Ben Dootson, Harry Townsend, Tyler Stevenson, Riley Dervan (2) and Joseph Mills were the try scorers.
n The Under-11s lost 36-16 against Woolston while the Under-8s defeated Crossfields 32-8.
n The Under-12s thrashed Leigh East 32-6.

Williams joined the party soon after.
Williams grabbed his second before Joe Hackett stormed over in the final seconds to crown a really good performance.
