Rising boxing star Jack Catterall has started his final training camp of the year ahead of a bout in December.

Catterall,22, will feature on the undercard of the WBO world middleweight title clash between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders.

The show, promoted by Frank Warren, is at the Manchester Arena on December 19.

Champions Terry Flanagan and Liam Smith, who both defended and won their world titles at the same arena this month are also on the card.

Light-welterweight Catterall will be looking to defend his WBO Inter-Continental belt for a third time.

Last time out, the southpaw defeated Jarkko Putkonen via a unanimous decision.

The bout was the first time Catterall went 10 round in his professional career.

Ahead of his fight in December, Catterall has his sights set on another tough opponent.

“I started back in the gym on Monday,” he said.

“I had a few days off which I needed and now it’s all systems go.

“Hopefully Frank Warren and my manager Lee Beard can sort another good opponent.”
