Chorley secured a huge win in the Northern League, beating Morecambe by nine wickets.
Billy Smith opened with a fine spell of swing bowling along with Chris Harty who toiled away without reward.
Smith first removed Josh Dixon and then the prize wicket of professional Vishal Tripathi with an excellent in swinging delivery.
Smith then claimed a third as his figures reflected his performance as he finished with 3-14 of 13 overs.
Ryan Smith (45) was the standout Morecambe batsman but he was one of Will Moulton’s three victims in a fine display of swing bowling.
Professional Gaurav Dhar mopped up the Morecambe tail claiming 4-5 off five overs as Morecambe succumbed to 78 all out off 36.3 overs.
The Chorley reply didn’t get off to the best of starts as David Fisher (two) fell early off the bowling of Gareth Pedder.
But the early loss of Fisher didn’t hamper the Chorley chase as Andrew Griffiths (49*) showed what quality he has hitting shots to all parts of the ground.
Ian Dickinson secured victory with a comfortable 26 sealing the victory.
It was different for the second team.
Batting first, skipper Ian Mawdesley soon lost opener Rowan Mitcham and No.3 Alex Weetman cheaply.
David Edwards (17) was controversially given out leg before.
