Blackpool 123 Chorley 101 all out

A BLISTERING display of pace bowling by Richard Gleeson proved too much for Chorley at chilly Windsor Park on Saturday.

Andy Holdsworth’s men looked poised to build on that hat-trick of victories over the Bank Holiday weekend when they shot out the visitors for just 123.

But they could not cope with the fiery Gleeson, who won the game for the Stanley Park outfit with two devastating spells.

Firstly, he left Chorley in tatters at 36-5.

And then when Iain Critchley and young Jack Bentham dug in for a recovery that threatened to earn victory for Chorley, he returned to sweep up the tail with three quick wickets to seal victory for the visitors.

Blackpool’s South African professional Dale Deeb battled to a hard-fought 43, but had little support as home pro Gaurav Dhar and Iain Critchley bagged three wickets apiece.

Yet if the crowd thought that low target would see a victory stroll, Gleeson had other ideas.
