A CHORLEY mother and daughter are celebrating after representing Great Britain Women’s Teachers team
Carolyn Hothersall and Sarah put their rivalries of coaching different rugby league clubs locally behind them when they played in the game against Bradford Ladies earlier this month.
In the process, they became the first mother and daughter pair to pull on the shirt in the same game.
Carolyn, 50, is a former Chorley Panthers player and is a junior coach for Bamber Bridge Bulldogs and Leyland Warriors club.
Meanwhile, Sarah, 21, plays for Chorley Panthers and England Students Rugby League teams as well as playing University of Cumbria Rugby Union, Lancashire Women’s Rugby Union and Waterloo Rugby Union. She coaches the Under-nine team at Leyland Warriors.
Sarah will be graduating this summer from the University of Cumbria as a qualified primary teacher.
