Chorley skipper Andy Holdsworth shares his thoughts on the weekend
“Saturday saw our poor league form continue, unfortunately.
We are trying hard to turn things around in the league, but at the moment things are not working for us.
However, Sunday was the national knockout, which saw another excellent performance with the ball in bowler-friendly conditions, most noteably the performances of Billy and Chris Harty with the new ball, to restrict Leyland to 26 for six from their first 18 overs.
This, ultimately, was where the game was won.
They were supported excellently by the other bowlers.
In reply, we were aided by some wayward bowling, with the extras contributing significantly, but it was pleasing to see the game through with some positive strokeplay at the end, to wrap up victory.”
