EVER-IMPROVING Chorley CC have a test of trophy credentials with a double-header this weekend.

Andy Holdsworth’s side take on Barrow at Windsor Park on Saturday followed by Lytham on Sunday after their impressive winning draw with champs St Annes.

Holdsworth beleived it will be a tough weekend but will have the players up for the challenge.

He said: “We know that we need to be consistent in order to be successful and that when we are on top of our game we can beat anybody.

“We will make sure we prepare well this week and are focused on the weekend ahead.

“We are more than capable of silverware this year if we are consistent and this Sunday provides the first opportunity to build towards this objective.

“We are looking forward to the challenges the weekend will bring.”

Holdsworth added that he was delighted with the contributions of his batsmen against St Annes.

He said: “Jack Catterall, Will Moulton and Alex Weetman all showed the talent they have building very good innings.

“Will’s 50 was a game changing innings as it accelerated our scoring, and built a platform for the back part of the innnings which allowed Alex Weetman to come in and express his talents.”
