Rossendale Utd 1 Chorley 2

Chorley made it five wins in six games following Tuesday night's 2-1 win at basement club Rossendale United.

If Steve Waywell's side do make it to the play-offs then the three points picked up in freezing conditions in front of just 101 fans could be crucial.

All the goals came in the first half with strikes by Chris Amadi (21 minutes) and Steve Burke (44 minutes) being sandwiched either side of Rossendale's reply from Jack Higgins.

Both of Chorley's goals were top class finishes but the home side piled on some late pressure with a series of corners.

One interesting fact was the match was officiated by a referee from France.

The win moves Chorley up to 8th spot and with several of the top teams dropping points it means that Chorley's game on Saturday against AFC Fylde becomes a must-win.
