A teacher from Chorley is hoping to give up his day job and work in television after appearing on reality show Shipwrecked.
Marvyn Williams appeared in this year's series of the Channel 4 show as part of the Tigers team and says it has opened new doors in the showbiz world.
The 27-year-old was stranded on a Pacific Island for four months, competing against rival team The Sharks and he has also been a presenter for T4 On the Beach.
However, the former St Michael's High School pupil admits that while stranded on the Cook Islands he missed parents Ken and Lynn Williams, 22-year-old brother Kelvin, and sister Nicole, 13, who live off Eaves Lane in Chorley.
He said: "Shipwrecked has given me a new perspective on what I want to do and I love presenting and being in front of the camera.
"The children at school keep asking me about what it was like on Shipwrecked and being on TV and it's boosted the profile of my school.
"Being on Shipwrecked was a life-changing experience and when we were on the island we left our families and our normal lives behind.
"It was a lot of fun and it was great being in the sun but the hardest point was when we received letters from our families and it made you want to be back home."
He added: "I've made a lot of good friends and am still in contact with Jack from the Tigers and Nathan from The Sharks.
"It's been fantastic working on TV and it's something I want to do full-time - Shipwrecked has been a steeping stone for me and I hope it will give me a chance to become a full-time presenter."
Marvyn now lives in Leeds and works part-time as a PE teacher at a school in Barnsley, Yorkshire.
He has appeared in magazines such as Heat, Sugar and More and is presenting this weekend's Music in the Sun festival in Sheffield.
The fitness enthusiast studied in Sheffield, graduated in 2002 and has recently released a music track with fellow team members from The Tigers at Shipwrecked.
