Horses die after crash horror

Two horses died after being struck by a car on a rural road near Preston.
The ponies, which had escaped a farmer's field, were hit by a Peugeot 106 on Bartle Lane, Bartle, at 12.30am on Sunday.

One died instantly, while the other received a leg injury and had to be put down by a vet.

The driver of the car was taken to Royal Preston Hospital. The extent of his injuries were unknown
