Pedestrian badly hurt in crash

A road was closed in Morecambe after a serious accident in which a pedestrian was badly hurt.
The elderly man was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary suffering serious injuries after the crash involving a green Nissan Micra on Marine Road East at 4pm on Monday.

A police spokesman said the road was closed eastbound at the junction of Thornton Road and was reopened at 6pm.

Officers diverted traffic while accident investigation work was carried out between Victoria Parade and Royal Road.
