The Biggest Book Show On Earth live tour is heading to Lancashire.

World Book Day 2014 is on March 6 but the event will be in Blackburn on March 10.

World Book Day is a charity initiative designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in more than 100 countries around the globe.

A main aim of World Book Day in the UK is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

To mark the day, school children are entitled to receive a World Book Day £1 Book Token supplied by National Book Tokens Ltd which can be exchanged for one of 10 specially-published books, or is redeemable against any book.

See www.worldbookday.com.

The show at King George’s Hall will include author Lauren St John and illustrator Alex T Smith as well as Cathy Cassidy, Jonathan Meres and Curtis Jobling, and is compered by Laura Dockrill.

The show will include readings, Q&A sessions as well as exclusive talks.
