Celebrate Lancaster’s burgeoning arts scene at the next First Friday, an event designed to show off what’s great on the local entertainment scene.

The Dukes will be harking back to the roaring 1920s with a special screening of The Great Gatsby while some vintage vinyl will be spun at The Hothouse in Morecambe.

More contemporary music will be performed by young bands during Rock The Square and a gig at Lancaster YMCA while on the same night, local favourites The Convulsions play at the city’s Stonewell Tavern.

June’s First Friday begins at 3.30pm when Lancaster District Youth Arts Partnership present two hours of live up-and-coming musicians and bands. The music moves on to the YMCA from 5.30-7pm. Details at www.artscity.co.uk
