Vintage By the Sea, the Retro fashion, music and cultural extravaganza led by Wayne Hemingway will be returning to Morecambe for a second year in September.

Last year the festival marked the 80th anniversary of the resort’s Midland Hotel, attracting more than 7,000 thousand visitors to the town.

Hemingway’s festival team – which includes the designer’s wife Geradine and son Jack – are now preparing for a similarly successful event this year.

Wayne said: “We have some wonderfully evocative music, fashion, kids activities beauty, film, art, design and cocktails and food planned – the Vintage team can’t wait to put our dancing shoes on!

“For one glamorous weekend (Saturday and Sunday September 6 and 7) the music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1980s that made Britain the world’s creative and cultural hot bed will be celebrated.

“So get your tickets and come and join us!”

Morecambe’s seafront will provide a classy backdrop and be transformed into a multi-venue playground where, visitors can ‘learn the dances’, take in live performances, see exclusive DJ sets, catwalk shows, sample great food and drink, or take advantage of decade specific hair and beauty makeovers and all the wonderful vintage shopping on offer.
