Get up and get your heart pumping as Streetgames brings sports to the doorstep of the young people in Lancashire.
The UK sports charity, which was launched in 2007, aims to give the chance to enjoy sport and become part of the fabric of the community.
It is the charity’s hope that Streetgames can lead to an increase in sport participation and help young people recognise the enjoyment that can be gained from taking part in sport. Part of the Get Up and Go programme, which targets 8-24 year olds, Streetgames will tour the Chorley area’s sports centres. The activities on offer all depend on which venue plays host but includes football, basketball, handball, tennis, table tennis and many more in an urban style.
Monday will be at Fairview Y and C Centre in Adlington, Tuesday is Coppull Youth Club, Wednesday is Buttermere Green and Thursday is Harpers Lane Recreation Ground. This weekly event is free, and runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at all venues, until Friday at Clayton Green Sports Centre which is 7pm to 9pm.
