Lancashire’s top Two Tone tribute artists, Ska Face show just how authentic their sound is tomorrow – as they are joined by Specials founder Jerry Dammers.

The unmissable 10-piece ska band will welcome legend Dammers to their show, Roots Reggae and Ska, at Preston’s 53 Degrees to top the bill with a DJ set until 2am.

Dammers will take over the decks following Ska Face’s
monster set, which features all the hits of ska greats like The
Selecter, The Beat, Madness, Bad Manners – and, of course, The Specials.

He is not the first Specials member to appear with Ska Face – they have also been joined on stage by Roddy Radiation and trombone player Rico Rodriguez, who provided the iconic opening to Ghost Town.

And there may soon be four – just a few nights ago, Neville Staples showed up at a
Coventry gig.

Afterwards, he said he was impressed – and seems interested in working with them.

Ska Face founder member Alberto The Shadow said: “He came down and had a chat with us in Coventry the other week.

“He was in the audience watching us because apparently he’d heard of us and wanted to check us out.

“We’re constantly pinching ourselves, thinking is this just a dream?

“We formed this band because we all grew up with this music. So it’s very surreal when you look across and there’s
Roddy Byers from the
Specials, or Rico Rodriguez or, this Saturday night, obviously Jerry Dammers, there beside you.”

Ska Face also write and record their own tunes,
releasing their debut That Difficult First Album in May 2012, and have reworked The Beat’s Psychedelic Rockers for The Teenage Cancer Trust’s
Specialized Project album.

This Preston show is a part of their current Taking It Up The Octave Tour, which
visits venues up and down the country from Kendal to Leeds through to Camden’s Dublin Castle and the home of UK Ska – The 2 Tone Village in Coventry.

Opening the show at 53
Degrees will be top Bob
Marley tribute, Bob On.

Tickets are £12 from the box office on 01772 893000.
