Band Aid founder and Ultravox star Midge Ure is to play an intimate show in a village hall near Preston.
Ure, who co-organised Live Aid, plays tiny Hurst Green Village Hall on Friday February 28.
It’s a rare chance to see the hugely influential musician, who founded Visage and co-wrote their hit, Fade To Grey, as well as Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas, and Ultravox’s Number One, Vienna, so up close and personal.
The star said; “Its wonderful to play a venue where people can hear the words as well as feel the rhythm.”
Promoters Hollow Horse Events have also recently announced gigs by 1990s stars Dodgy and Icicle Works frontman Ian McNabb at the venue. Carl Barrow of Hollow Horse said: “We have a simple motto - to bring national names to local venues.” Tickets are £20 from www.ticketweb.co.uk/
