The voice of iconic post punk bands Spear of Destiny and Theatre of Hate comes to Preston’s New Continental for an intimate solo gig tomorrow night.
Kirk Brandon first came to fame as the frontman of new wavers Theatre of Hate, whose biggest hit was Do You Believe in the Westworld, from their Number 17 album, Westworld.
After they disbanded in 1981, Brandon went on to form Spear of Destiny - with signature tune Liberator - who reformed in 2007 and appeared at 53 Degrees last year, supporting Stiff Little Fingers.
He was also key in forming punk supergroup Dead Men Walking, whose members over the years included The Alarm’s Mike Peters, Stray Cats’ Slim Jim Phantom, The Damned’s Captain Sensible, ex-Sex Pistol Glenn Matlock and more. And there were star guest appearances too, from Cult and Theatre of Hate star Billy Duffy, Lemmy and The Clash’s Mick Jones.
He will be accompanied by ex-Alarm member Steve Allan Jones and supported by Folk Grinder. Tickets are £9 on 01772 499 425.
