Life-sized puppetry and live music help tell the story of two unlikely friends at opposite ends of their lives at The Dukes in Lancaster this Thursday.

Killing Roger will be performed as part of a national tour and following five-star runs in London and at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

This new play, recommended for anyone aged 13 plus, explores assisted dying.

Inspired by prize-winning author L.W. Illsley’s personal experiences of Hodgkin’s disease and the care industry, it tells the poignant yet humorous tale of an old man and a boy.

The show, staged during Dying Matters Awareness Week, was first produced in association with Little Angel Theatre – the Home of British Puppetry – last year.

Following the show at The Dukes, there will be an optional 30-minute panel event on the play with representatives of Dying Matters who aim to change attitudes and behaviours towards dying, death and bereavement.
