Man found dead in unexplained circumstances in Preston car park

A man in his 40s was found dead in a Preston city centre car park this morning.

Guildhall Street was cordoned off at the junction with Cross Street around 6.30am after police were alerted by the North West Ambulance Service.

Paramedics attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene in what police say were ‘unexplained’ circumstances.

He has not yet been named by Lancashire Police

A Lancashire police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at shortly before 6.30am today (Wednesday, July 13) after the body of a man was found on a car park on Guildhall Street in Preston. He was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a man in his 40s. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
