A car has caught fire on the M61 near Chorley this afternoon (Tuesday, March 23).
The incident has led to a lane closure between junctions 9 (which meets M65 junction 2 at Clayton Brook) and 8 (Chorley, A674 Millennium Way, A6), which is causing delays to southbound traffic.
Fire crews and traffic officers are at the scene.
Lane 1 (of 3) is closed and matrix signs show speed reductions are in place.
No injuries have been reported.
