Addictive TV ready to blow your mind
Preston has pulled off a coup by snapping up a gig by Addictive TV which music critics say is likely to be 'mind-blowing.'
Video jockeys Graham Daniels and Mark Vidler are heading for the city’s People’s Production Lab (PPL) on Friday July 27 to show off their unique brand of audio-visual entertainment.
The pair, who have twice been voted the top VJ performers in the world by DJ Magazine, will be on the outdoor stage of the Cannon Street venue to air their latest project “Orchestra of Samples.”
The work took the guys six years to create and involved them filming improvised recording sessions with more than 200 musicians around the world, from West Africa to South America and across Europe “sampling this unique archive to then produce music, fusing all manner of instruments and genres to create a virtual supergroup of international artists who never met but play together on-screen.”
They ingeniously spliced them together to create the project. The result is a digital supergroup of international artists who never met, but play together on-screen.
“Orchestra of Samples” features top musicians in their field and documents a range of unusual localised instruments on recordings made in Brazil, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Senegal, Colombia, across Europe and even Bhutan in the Himalayas, creating a unique musical journey without borders. Amongst a host of media reviews, Addictive TV were described by The Times as being “responsible for mind-bending live entertainment.” US entertainment magazine Paste said “Addictive TV completely blew my mind a compelling popculture audio/visual avalanche.”
