Charlie Harper returns for UK Subs
The British punk heroes, formed in 1976 and still lead by their ever-present frontman, come to the city’s Blitz nightclub for one of their most intimate shows of this current tour.
The legendary punk band originally emerged, like so many, from the R&B pub band scene when, inspired by The Damned, Harper formed them from his old band, The
Marauders.

He is now venerated by many as one of the godfatners of UK punk rock while the UK Subs celebrated their fifth decade together in 2010 and released their most recent album, Work in Progress, on Oi! Records in 2011 to critical acclaim.
They are also a regular feature on the bill at Blackpool’s punk summer extravaganza, Rebellion Festival.
For Blitz owner Peter Alexander, it’s a trip down Memory Lane as he last booked them to play his former club, Preston Warehouse, in their heyday.
