The razor sharp comic, who has not only appeared on all the top TV comedy panel shows, but also writes jokes for many more, is reviving his acclaimed 2010 debut Edinburgh show, The Purist, for a few dates.

And lucky laughter fans at Preston’s 53 Degrees get to enjoy one of them.

The comedian, who is the partner of TV comedienne Sarah Millican and also writes for her, is a regular on panel show Mock The Week.

But he also puts jokes in the mouths of other comics on shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock The Week, Russell Howard’s Good News, Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks, and Radio 4’s The News Quiz.

He has won two Sony Radio Awards for his work on Kerrang Radio and even his Twitter feed was nominated for a Chortle Award in 2011.

His debut show, Purist, boosted his reputation enormously when it scored a massive success at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010, with performances selling out every night and winning many four and five star reviews from the critics.

The Guardian said: “Expect a cavalcade of brilliantly inventive puns from this master of the one-liner, a craftsman to be ranked along with likes of Tim Vine and Milton Jones,” while The Scotsman described him as : “unremittingly vicious comic Gary Delaney, master of the one-liner.”
