Drift along to the Continental riverside

Beatboxer Singh will perform a live vocal score to John Grierson’s critically acclaimed 1929 silent film Drifters at the Preston pub on Thursday.

Using pre-recorded sequences, live vocal processing and sampling, Jason will create a backdrop to accompany Grierson’s film on the lives of North Sea herring fishermen.

Grierson has been described as the father of British documentary filmmaking. Premiering in London alongside Battleship Potemkin in 1929, Drifters follows North Sea herring fishermen through their dramatic daily routines.
