The Fylde Film Showcase has been created to exhibit and celebrate the talent of short film creators from across the North West and internationally.

It has been organised by eight BA Digital Production and Filmmaking students from the college who hope it will become a yearly event and create a legacy for future degree students.

One of the students involved, Christian Roberts said: “We want as many people to attend as possible and I’m sure there are many enthusiastic film lovers who are excited to find out more about the talent in their local area.

“This is an event which incorporates those creating for screen and those who just love to watch and we hope it will be a great success.”

The two-day event will launch on Thursday, March 30 at FY Creatives on Church Street. A selection of submitted films will be shown throughout the day with opportunity for audiences to vote for their favourites.

Those films chosen will then be shown on the evening of Friday, March 31 in the prestigious 1930s restored cinema across the street at The Regent, where the successful entries will be presented with awards.
