Clara Mouriz, accompanied by Joseph Middleton will be exploring these heroines through 200 years of song. Mouriz is one of the most exciting mezzo-sopranos of her generation.

Spanish music will bookend the recital, beginning with an early setting from the Greek myth Acis and Galatea and ending with Granados’s impassioned The Maja and the Nightingale, inspired by the paintings of Goya. It also includes Ravel’s exotic setting of the One Thousand and One Nights as told by Shéhérezade.
