Know witch way to the castle?

Youngsters and adults alike can enjoy storytelling, street theatre, a Sword in the Stone theatrical performance and a visit to the dragon’s lair, all of which is included in the £1 per person admission charge.

Children can ‘enrol’ in Lancaster Castle’s Medieval Knight School. For £4 each, children and adults can experience the interactive workshop which has developed to encompass a variety of different periods.

Each ‘student’ will be able to try on authentic reproduction armour from the 11th to the 15th Century; learn and dispell the myths surrounding armour and weaponry of the medieval period; learn the knights’ moves employed on the battlefield and take part in a fully interactive re-enactment of the Battle of Agincourt.

Alongside the Medieval knight school, the castle will be hosting a ‘Wanna be a Dragon Hunter?’ workshop, suitable for ages 4-12, and costing £5 per child.

Dragon hunters will discover how to camouflage themselves in order to sneak up on a dragon. Training will include dragon smelling, hiding, riding and finding gold the dragon is hiding.

For the brave, there will be the chance to meet Witch Evanore, right.

At £2 per person, visitors aged 4+ will be invited to go down the dark tower steps to meet Witch Evanore and listen to her tales and spells.

A number of craft stalls will also be at the castle over the weekend, with dragon egg painting, knight shield making and a witches colouring competition.
