Man with the golden voice comes to Guild Hall

The former vocalist with Mike and The Mechanics and the voice behind worldwide hits such as ‘How Long’ by Ace, Squeeze’s ‘Tempted’ and, of course, the timeless number one sad classic ‘The Living Years’.

Initially finding fame with Ace and Roxy Music, Carrack is now firmly established as a solo performer.

In a career that spans 40 years Paul has appeared on more than 60 albums, as well as writing for The Eagles, Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Michael McDonald and Jools Holland among many others.

Over the past decade or so Paul has worked increasingly in his own right on several solo albums, starting with Satisfy My Soul in 2000, and Groovin’ a year later.

In 2010 he joined forces with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on album A Different Hat, and his latest solo release, Good Feeling came out late last year.

This coincided with the BBC4 screening of The Man With The Golden Voice, a programme that documented Paul’s rise from ordinary Sheffield upbringings to the global star of today.

The singer recently toured the USand Europe as a member of Eric Clapton’s Band.

Paul Carrack is at the Guild Hall next Saturday night from 7.30pm.
