PCW’s Steven Fludder - 2015 will only see me work harder

2014 was a good year for me personally and PCW professionally.

I can count on one hand the negative points of the year and that’s not too bad in my view. Back in March I had some personal issues to deal with including when a talent/friend called Lionheart suffered a broken neck in a PCW ring in a match with AJ Styles. The broken neck incident dragged me into a dark place for a good few weeks. The weekend it happened I was so excited for it all I had not eaten a full meal or had any sleep for around four days at the point the accident happened. Over a week I actually lost a full two stone in weight due to the anxiety leading up to the show and the stress it caused me after it.

I was pretty much back to normal around April and right up to October when Kris Travis was diagnosed with cancer I was fine but having an urge to help in any way I can. I was burning the candle at both ends with trying to raise money for Kris and having the biggest shows I had ever run to promote. On the go I had online fund donation sites set up, selling tshirts with the money going to Kris and planning an event for him, at the same time as I was trying to communicate with the second biggest wrestling promotion in America planning our UK Supershow weekend where I had five shows in one weekend to manage. I also was working during the day as a Security Guard and at night as a Door Supervisor. To top it all off the Academy and the red tape was driving me crazy. Stretched and under pressure was an understatement.

Most of December was such a good month with no shows or stress of any kind, I just drifted through it and was so relaxed I even had a holiday in Spain. I also had a week away from running PCW and plugging things. The end of the month though a personal friend passed away with Cancer. John White who was ex Armed Forces now a Security Guard on Preston Market. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and was pretty much the town center first aider and I think he must have helped thousands of people over the years with no agenda but he simply liked to help people. So rather than sit back like the rest of us he attended any calls on the town center radio in Preston. So RIP John.

So all in all the above points where my only dark times. But would I change anything? Not a single thing as it all happens for a reason and though some things are caused by so called acts of god others are due to me just being a workaholic and that will never be something that changes. 2015 will only see me work harder as I try to make the new PCW Training Academy the best facility in the UK!
