The Midnight Beast, who’ll play Preston’s 53 Degrees on August 15, will confuse us older souls on the changing face of pop music.

They had 411,639 subscribers and 66,440,422 views combined on their YouTube channel, as well as 405,650 Facebook fans as of March this year.

They are most famous for their YouTube cover-parody of the 2009 single TiK ToK by American pop artist Ke$ha, which went viral.

It’s a far cry from the likes of The Beatles or The La’s having residencies at small clubs like the Cavern or the Picket in Liverpool.

TMB, as they’re shortened to, are a comedy music hybrid trio, and have just finished broadcasting their second series of a fictionalised version of themselves on E4.

They’ll be in Preston to plug their second album, Shtick Heads, which is released on their own label, Sounds Like Good, on June 2.

The Midnight Beast are also about to take their ironic stance on south west London culture across the Atlantic with three digital shorts for Comedy Central USA.

They made another splash with one of the first ever guerrilla gigs promoted only via Twitter, when 2,000 fans rocked up to hear them play on Brighton Beach.
