Ready to power up for AC/DC

The six-man tribute to one of rock’s greatest heavy metal bands, AC/DC, roll into Clitheroe next week, (December 6) primed for another head-banging set of high voltage rock and roll.

The AC/DC doppelgangers cover both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras, with two very individual singers in the same explosive performance.

“I was a nine-year-old kid when my brother played me Jailbreak, and I was hooked,” said Livewire bassist Eddie Clark.

“No other band got me like AC/DC, and for thousands of kids in my era, the sight of Angus Young in his schoolboy outfit doing his duck walk was the enduring image of their teenage years.”

So how has the sound of AC/DC endured so powerfully since the 1970’s?

“They just have this great gift to heighten the senses through those incredible tunes,” added Clark.

“How can songs like Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway to Hell and Back in Black not move you?

“There’s very few groups who have the power of their stage presence, so I’m proud that our band can perhaps be a part of that in a small way.”

Livewire bring the full DC show to their all-guns blazing act, with cannons, walkways, the backdrops and drapes, plus the towering stacks of Marshall Amps, cranking up the volume even louder.

“This is the fourth time we’ve played Clitheroe, and wherever we go in Britain there’s AC/DC aficionados who come to our shows.

“AC/DC have become almost a way of life for them.

“They could tell you Cliff Williams’ (AC/DC bassist) shoe size or how tall Angus was.

“We are acutely aware of that, so everything we do has to be incredibly accurate, from the positive body language on stage, to how we dress.

“I’ve seen every AC/DC tour since 1984, so we don’t make it up.

“We finish work on a Friday, and then the buzz begins.

“The excitement is almost childlike, and when we play the shows it is incredible to deliver those songs.

“We get inside the minds and music of AC/DC - and we live and breath it every weekend.”
