Guitarist Aziz Ibrahim, who replaced John Squire when the Roses reunited in the mid 1990s, has got together with Prestonians Pete Brown, Stew Mayor and Mark Whiteside to form the brand new prog improv band.

Mark, who masterminds The Fall frontman Mark E Smith’s new favourite band, Evil Blizzard, managed to rope in the Longsight born guitarist who was also known for the many years he spent playing in Mick Hucknall’s Simply Red.

Ibrahim has also worked with rockers Asia, with Steve Wilson, and also has had a long association with the Modfather, Paul Weller, with whom he is currently also working on new material, writing songs for the star’s soon to be released new album.

Mark Whiteside said: “If you like watching a guitarist at the top of his game, then this is a gig you must not miss.

“It’s one long soundscape that could develop into anything and probably will. No rules, no vocals, just lots of effects and lots of guitar.”

Doors open at 8pm and the band should be onstage at 9pm sharp at the Fylde Road pub so don’t be late if you don’t want to miss anything.

Also on onstage that night will be Italian band, Cut, returning to the Ferret after debuting there two years ago with a raucous set.

And support is from Manchester band Bobbie Peru, who are familiar and welcome faces at the pub.

Entry is free.
