Lancaster actor Stephen Tomlin gives a spooky fireside reading of ghost stories at the city’s Dukes Theatre this Sunday.

The evening show is then followed by a screening of creepy tale, The Signalman (PG), from the BBC’s A Ghost Story For Christmas.

Steve, a 1991 BBC Mastermind champion and founder of the city’s Demi-paradise Productions company at Lancaster Castle, will read Tarnhelm by Hugh Walpole - a creepy tale firmly rooted in the Lake District where the author lived.

The Signalman is based on the Charles Dickens’ short story about a lonely railway worker haunted by a ghost from a nearby tunnel.
